Pakistan Adjusts Fuel Prices and Launches Petrol Relief Scheme

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised petroleum prices while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced a relief scheme for small-engine vehicle owners.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised petroleum prices in Pakistan effective October 28, 2026. The regulatory body reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.19 per litre to a new rate of Rs376.06, while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.25 per litre to Rs398.07.

To address economic pressures following the US-Iran war, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif established the Petrol Relief Scheme. This initiative provides a discount of Rs100 per litre to eligible owners of motorcycles, Qingqi rickshaws, and vehicles with engines up to 800cc.

Eligible citizens must register via SMS to 9771 to obtain a token number. This token is required before visiting a petrol station to claim the discount.
