Netanyahu Meets US Lawmakers and Evangelicals in Washington

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a series of high-level meetings on July 30, 2026, at Blair House in Washington, D.C. The Israeli leader met with U.S. lawmakers, leadership from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and evangelical community leaders to reinforce the U.S.-Israel alliance.

During his discussions with evangelical leaders, Netanyahu described the Judeo-Christian heritage as the basis of human civilization's freedom and faith. He asserted that this heritage faces a joint attack from rising antisemitism and anti-Evangelicalism, urging the leaders to remain resolute and "attack back" against such opposition.

Netanyahu also met with Senators Tim Sheehy, John Fetterman, and Tom Cotton. Senator Fetterman characterized the conflict against Hamas and Hezbollah as a "just war" and criticized the Democratic Party's current stance toward Israel. Additionally, Netanyahu highlighted recent conversations with President Donald Trump, describing a partnership focused on securing the Jewish state and ensuring Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.
