President Pezeshkian Proposes New SCO Parliamentary Assembly
President Masoud Pezeshkian proposed creating a Parliamentary Assembly and a security studies center during a Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan.
President Masoud Pezeshkian proposed the creation of a Parliamentary Assembly within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) during a summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The proposed assembly is intended to strengthen interparliamentary dialogue, facilitate the exchange of legislative experience, and support cooperation among member states.
In addition to the legislative proposal, Pezeshkian called for the establishment of a strategic center for security studies. This center would leverage the professional capabilities of member states to combat terrorism, radicalism, and emerging security threats.
Pezeshkian stated that the future of multilateralism depends on maintaining dialogue and creating effective cooperation mechanisms. He affirmed that Iran is ready to play a constructive role in enhancing the regional and international position of the organization.
