Bola Tinubu Campaigns in Rivers State for 2027 Re-election
President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerian youths to collect voter cards and highlighted economic gains during a campaign rally in Port Harcourt.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a campaign rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on November 7, 2026, to seek support for the January 16, 2027, presidential election. Organized by the Rainbow Coalition, the event served as a platform for Tinubu to present his 2027 manifesto and urge Nigerian youths to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, which he described as a weapon for determining the country's leadership.
During the rally, Tinubu praised the reconciliation between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Minister Nyesom Wike, noting Fubara's maturity in resolving their political disagreement. Governor Fubara pledged to deliver at least three million votes for the president, while Minister Wike highlighted the 47 political appointments granted to Rivers State indigenes under the current administration. Vice President Kashim Shettima supported these claims by citing an increase in national reserves from $3.9 billion to $60 billion over three years.
Tinubu defended his economic reforms, claiming his administration is clearing billions and trillions of naira in inherited pension and salary liabilities to spread prosperity. He also criticized the moral integrity of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Parallel to these rallies, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo has been mobilizing support through the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots strategy launched in June 2025 aiming to secure 10 million votes across Nigeria's 774 local government areas.
