Iran and Pakistan Declare New Era of Strategic Ties

Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam announced that bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan have entered a "new and unique era" characterized by mutual respect and neighborly cooperation. Moghadam stated that the partnership is now resistant to external pressures and serves as a regional model.

Recent diplomatic milestones driving this shift include a Pakistani parliamentary resolution supporting Iran during Israeli aggression and the inclusion of Pakistan in the Iranian Supreme Leader's first Nowruz message. The Ambassador highlighted a surge in high-level engagements over the last two years to solidify these bonds.

Key diplomatic activities included two visits to Islamabad by President Masoud Pezeshkian in June 2026 to express gratitude to Pakistan. These efforts were complemented by multiple visits to Iran by the Pakistani Prime Minister and diplomatic missions led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
