Robert Fico Demands Removal of Satirical Trump Statue

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico demanded the removal of a satirical nude statue of U.S. President Donald Trump from the European Parliament on Thursday. Fico described the installation as a "sign of the decline of the entire European Union" and argued that insulting partners on official premises demonstrates a failure to understand current global dynamics.

While Fico stated he does not agree with all of Trump's policies, he criticized the leadership of the European Parliament for failing to distinguish between legitimate differing opinions and the actions of "spiritually bankrupt individuals, adventurers and lunatics." He questioned whether the Parliament would allow similar depictions of the French president or the German chancellor.
