Jide Kosoko Defends President Tinubu's Economic Reforms

Actor Jide Kosoko urged Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu's administration, citing systemic failures of previous governments as the cause of current economic hardship.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko defended the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu during an interview on the Talk To B podcast. Kosoko asserted that Nigeria's current financial difficulties are not as dire as critics suggest and are the result of systemic failures by previous administrations, specifically regarding population planning and the long-term fuel subsidy regime.

To illustrate government support, Kosoko pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which provides school fees and monthly allowances of approximately ₦20,000 to eligible students to ease the burden on parents. While acknowledging that the country has not yet fully overcome its economic challenges, he argued that the current administration is actively resolving inherited issues.

Kosoko called for public patience and urged that President Tinubu be granted a second term to complete his reform agenda, stating that the president should be allowed to finish his job to lead the country out of its current situation.
