James Talarico Leads Ken Paxton in Texas Senate Poll
Democrat James Talarico holds a six-point lead over Republican Ken Paxton in a YouGov poll of registered Texas voters.
A YouGov poll of 3,625 registered Texas voters conducted between September 28 and October 5 shows Democrat James Talarico leading Republican Ken Paxton by six points in the U.S. Senate campaign. Talarico holds 50% overall support compared to 44% for Paxton.
The lead is primarily driven by younger demographics, with 69% of voters aged 18–29 and 62% of those aged 30–44 favoring Talarico. Paxton maintains an advantage among voters aged 65 and older, where he holds 55% support. Voter loyalty remains high for both candidates, as only 3% of Talarico supporters and 4% of Paxton supporters indicated they would consider changing their minds.
The survey also revealed general dissatisfaction with both major political parties. Additionally, voters expressed a split opinion on the presidency of Donald Trump, with 44% approval and 56% disapproval.
