Donald Trump Claims Tariff Threats Ended Five Global Wars

President Donald Trump claimed on Truth Social that his use of tariff threats directly stopped five of eight wars and increased foreign investment.

Donald Trump claimed on Saturday via Truth Social that the threat of tariffs directly stopped five out of eight wars. He asserted that these economic measures serve as a strategic tool to prevent hostilities and have brought trillions of dollars in tariffs and foreign investment into the U.S. economy.

Trump described the United States as the richest, strongest, and most respected it has ever been, attributing this status to his tariff policies and his victory in the 2024 presidential election. He further criticized former President Joe Biden for presiding over the worst inflation in U.S. history.

In his posts, Trump accused various countries, the Koch network, and Leonard Leo of exploiting the United States through their own tariffs. While Trump previously claimed tariff threats helped resolve a May 2025 confrontation between India and Pakistan, India has not confirmed his role in that ceasefire.
