Pro-Tinubu Campaign Mobilizes Lagos Amid 2027 Election Warnings

Government Ekpemupolo and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu are mobilizing voters for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election as opposition groups warn against electoral manipulation.

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, led by Government Ekpemupolo, launched a mobilization effort in Lagos on October 13, 2026, to secure a convincing 2027 presidential victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. During a campaign rally, Ekpemupolo presented 57 vehicles to state coordinators and urged residents to obtain Permanent Voter Cards to avoid a repeat of the 2023 election, in which Peter Obi defeated Tinubu in Lagos State.

Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu supported the initiative, citing economic stability, infrastructure growth, and improvements in pensions and the minimum wage as reasons for Tinubu's re-election. National Coordinator Sunday Asuku emphasized that the victory must be achieved through voting rather than intimidation, calling for the retirement of serial contesters.

These efforts coincided with a backlash from opposition voices on October 14. Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse and the Obidient Movement issued warnings following FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's claim that he is the field commander for Tinubu's campaign in the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State. Otse accused the presidency of enabling political impunity, while the Obidient Movement cautioned Wike against interfering with the electoral process, labeling any attempt to manipulate the 2027 results as an unforgivable electoral offence.
