Opposition Parties Form Coalition to Oust Tinubu in 2027
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed announced an opposition coalition to remove President Bola Tinubu from office in the 2027 election following accusations of national plunder.
National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party Hakeem Baba-Ahmed announced that opposition parties are forming a coalition to present a unified candidate for the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at a Northern Elders Forum summit, Baba-Ahmed called for the removal of President Bola Tinubu, accusing the administration of dragging Nigeria to its lowest point through abuse, neglect, and plunder.
Baba-Ahmed claimed that former President Muhammadu Buhari originally resisted political pressure to have Tinubu succeed him because Buhari viewed the current president as bad news for the country. He further criticized the use of the Emilokan slogan, arguing that it treats the presidency as a personal entitlement rather than a public service.
According to Baba-Ahmed, President Tinubu is prioritizing personal political ambition over national welfare and is relying on allies to secure a second term. The Peoples Redemption Party leader stated that the opposition intends to survive the current term to ensure the long-term survival of the country for future generations.
