Drones Strike Yandex Data Center in Ryazan Region

Yandex suspended all operations at a major data center in Russia's Ryazan region on October 8 after drone strikes caused a fire at the facility. The company confirmed the attack disabled the hub, which hosts Yandex Cloud and supports YandexGPT, one of the primary generative AI models in Russia.

While the company is working to restore the affected services, it stated that its core consumer services remained unaffected. This event represents the first confirmed major drone attack on a Russian data hub. The strike follows a series of Russian attacks targeting Ukrainian data centers in recent weeks.
