Netanyahu Says Overthrow of Iranian Regime Is Within Reach

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday that the overthrow of the Iranian Islamic republic is within reach, asserting that the regime is currently teetering and fighting for its survival. Speaking at an event with military leaders, Netanyahu stated that removing the threat of the Iranian regime is the central task remaining for Israel.

These comments follow a week of renewed military strikes and increased economic pressure against Iran by the United States. While Iran has responded by attacking U.S. allies in Jordan, the Gulf, and the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Netanyahu noted that Iran has avoided direct attacks on Israel. He attributed this restraint to Iranian recognition of Israel's military power and determination.

Netanyahu makes these claims as he prepares for general elections on October 27. Current polling indicates he is trailing, and opposition leaders have criticized his strategic approach toward Iran.
