BJP President Nitin Nabin Launches Campaign for Modi Birthday

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin appealed to Indian citizens on September 14, 2026, to light an Aashirwad ka Diya, or Lamp of Blessings, at their homes on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. The ceremony coincides with the launch of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long campaign running through October 17 that celebrates Modi's 25 years of public service. The party will observe the birthday as Seva Diwas, featuring blood donation camps and the lamp-lighting event.

Nabin praised Modi's leadership in managing the COVID-19 pandemic and combating terrorism and Naxalism. He cited the Lakhpati Didi program for women and youth startup schemes as key drivers toward the goal of a developed India by 2047.

Earlier that day, Nabin performed aarti and offered prayers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi to mark Ganesh Chaturthi. He prayed for the nation's prosperity and the continued success of the Prime Minister. Other senior officials, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, issued greetings for the ten-day festival, describing the deity as a symbol of wisdom and harmony. BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj also offered prayers at the Vinayak Mandir in Sarojini Nagar.
