Fox News Hires Former Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
Karoline Leavitt will join Fox News as an on-air contributor on November 1 following her tenure as press secretary for Donald Trump.
Karoline Leavitt, the former press secretary and chief spokeswoman for President Donald Trump, will join Fox News as an on-air contributor starting November 1. Leavitt, who holds the record as the youngest person ever appointed to the press secretary role, is expected to provide commentary across news and opinion programming.
Leavitt left the White House in August to spend more time with her children following maternity leave. Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, noted that Leavitt's experience in the White House and on the campaign trail provides her with a distinct understanding of the political landscape.
This appointment makes Leavitt the second of Trump's former press secretaries to join the network, following Kayleigh McEnany. The hire occurs during a period of tension between the president and the network, as Trump has recently used social media to criticize the narrative presented by Fox News.
