Mike Pompeo Warns of Russian Terror Campaign in Ukraine

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claims Vladimir Putin is conducting a terror campaign against Ukrainian civilians to force Western nations to withdraw support.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated in an October 29 interview with RFE/RL that Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown no willingness to end the war in Ukraine. Pompeo characterized the Russian strategy as a "terror campaign" targeting civilians to pressure Western leadership into withdrawing support, even as the Ukrainian military reportedly inflicts 42,000 casualties per month on Russian forces.

Pompeo warned that a coordinated alliance between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea poses a serious threat to Western civilization and security. He argued that a secure end-state requires a long-term security architecture, which could include the deployment of European non-Ukrainian forces on the front lines to deter future Russian aggression.

Additionally, Pompeo criticized European nations for continuing to fund the Russian war machine. He predicted the eventual collapse of the Iranian regime, citing the impact of U.S. economic pressure and the possibility of kinetic actions.
