Rahul Gandhi Announces Sonia Gandhi Memoir Belonging: A Journey of Love

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced the forthcoming memoir of his mother, Sonia Gandhi, on August 20, 2026. Sharing the cover of the book, titled Belonging: A Journey of Love, on social media, Gandhi timed the announcement to coincide with the 82nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

In a personal message accompanying the reveal, Gandhi praised his mother's courage and dignity in the years following the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. He noted that he and his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, were among the few who truly understood the hardships Sonia Gandhi faced during that period.

The memoir is expected to provide an account of Sonia Gandhi's personal life, her relationship with Rajiv Gandhi, and her experiences navigating the Indian political landscape.
