Donald Trump Announces Defense Super Range in Montana

President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a new Department of War super range in Montana to test autonomous and hypersonic weapons.

Donald Trump announced plans to establish a new defense super range in Montana for testing advanced military technologies during a campaign event in Kalispell on October 14. The facility will focus on the development of autonomous weapons, space systems, electronic warfare, and hypersonic weapons.

The announcement took place while the president was touring the state to support Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. Trump stated that the Department of War would establish the range to ensure the American military remains supreme.

Montana currently hosts the Montana Spaceport & Test Range and the Limestone Hills Innovation & Test Campus. However, the president did not specify whether this new Department of Defense initiative would be integrated with these existing projects.
