Vice-President Kashim Shettima defended the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu during the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit in Asaba on Monday. Shettima argued that the administration deserves commendation rather than condemnation, pointing to specific financial recoveries as evidence of success.
He highlighted a significant increase in foreign reserves, which grew from $3 billion to over $52 billion, and noted a transition from a period of capital scarcity to one of capital inflows. During the summit, Shettima praised Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his public support of the federal reform agenda and his conduct during the 2023 elections.
Shettima concluded his address by assuring investors that the Federal Government will collaborate with state governments to remove barriers to business and investment.
