Trump Claims Hamas Willing to Surrender Weapons

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Hamas is willing to surrender its weapons, citing the return of all hostages and a decline in fighting as evidence of successful U.S. diplomacy. Trump credited CIA Director John Ratcliffe and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for the progress, presenting the current trajectory as a victory for Washington's diplomatic strategy.

However, officials from the Board of Peace reported that both Israel and Hamas are currently violating the 20-point US-backed roadmap. The board criticized Hamas-linked kite launches and recent Israel Defense Forces operations, arguing that tactical Israeli actions are causing strategic damage that could undermine the disarmament process.

While the Board of Peace warned that the agreement is being ignored, Israel continues to maintain that Hamas must be stripped of all military capabilities before a resolution is reached.
