African Democratic Congress Criticizes Tinubu for Prioritizing Political Rivalry

The African Democratic Congress condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing political battles over the fight against terrorism and banditry in Nigeria.

The African Democratic Congress criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he declared his readiness to "fight to the finish" politically during a meeting with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the party argued that the president should redirect his combativeness toward defeating terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers. The party highlighted the timing of the president's remarks, noting they occurred only hours after gunmen killed at least 30 people and destroyed homes in Naridon village, Kaduna State.

The ADC accused the administration of responding to massacres with condolences rather than decisive security actions. The party asserted that the president acts as a commentator on national insecurity while remaining a combatant against his political opposition.
