These include Adam Hamawy in New Jersey, who has ties to an al-Qaeda front, and Graham Platner in Maine, who reportedly has a Nazi tattoo. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan is also cited as a potentially nominated controversial figure.

He compared the current instability to the decline of historic European parties, though he suggested the U.S. two-party system might recover if one party overcomes its ideological fixation.
