BJP MP Dhaval Patel Calls for Rahul Gandhi's Resignation
BJP MP Dhaval Patel urged Rahul Gandhi to resign after the Congress party failed to win any contested Legislative Council seats in Karnataka.
Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Dhaval Patel called for the resignation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following Legislative Council election results in Karnataka. Patel noted that the BJP and the National Democratic Alliance won all four contested seats, while the Congress party won none despite currently governing the state.
Patel argued that because these elections were conducted using ballot papers, the results prove that the Congress party faces certain defeat regardless of whether electronic voting machines or ballot papers are used. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi would demand the resignation of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, state presidents in the four states where elections occurred, or the party's own MPs and MLAs.
Patel concluded that the best path forward for the Congress party would be for Rahul Gandhi himself to resign to allow for any possibility of progress.
