Elon Musk Donates Record $366 Million to Republican Groups
Elon Musk donated a record $366 million to Republican groups and his America PAC to support GOP candidates in the November 3 midterm elections.
Elon Musk has donated a record $366 million to groups supporting Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections for the U.S. House and Senate. This total exceeds the $290 million he invested in Donald Trump's 2024 campaign. The funding was distributed among the Senate Leadership Fund, Congressional Leadership Fund, America PAC, the Republican Governors Association, the Republican Attorneys General Association, and the Lone Star Liberty PAC.
Of the total, $158 million went to the Senate Leadership Fund and $76 million to America PAC. The latter has deployed nearly 3,000 canvassers across seven Senate battlegrounds and nearly three dozen House races, with a significant focus on supporting nominee Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race. The campaign strategy emphasizes culture war issues, specifically targeting Democratic candidates over socialism and transgender rights.
These investments come as pre-midterm polling shows Democrats leading by up to 9 points on the generic congressional ballot. While Musk has reconciled with President Donald Trump following a public falling out in May 2025, he is reportedly taking a more hands-off approach to operations than in 2024, delegating major decisions to top adviser Chris Young.
