Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a massive campaign rally at the Kaduna Township Stadium in Kaduna to secure regional support for his 2027 re-election. During the event, the president inaugurated an 81-kilometre section of the Kaduna-Abuja highway, using the infrastructure project to highlight the administration's progress.
The rally served as a strategic effort to counter opposition claims that Northern Nigeria had abandoned the president. The event drew 18 of 19 northern governors, along with former governors and community leaders. Support for the bid was further signaled by the Arewa for Asiwaju movement and the Northern Youth Frontiers, both of which cited the high turnout as evidence of continued loyalty to the president's economic reforms.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and Senator Abdulaziz Yari addressed the crowd to solidify the alliance. Shettima urged voters to renew a second term for the All Progressives Congress, while Yari asserted that the region remains determined to deliver on its promises for the 2027 election.
