ADC Demands Probe Into Alleged Sale of Ministerial Posts

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council is demanding an investigation into claims that Nigerian ministers paid for their cabinet appointments.

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to address allegations that some cabinet ministers paid to secure their appointments. The demand follows claims made by Alwan Hassan, a spokesperson for the president's campaign, during a live television program.

Hassan reportedly alleged that certain ministers paid for their positions and are now prioritizing the recovery of those investments over governance. The ADC-PCC argues that such actions treat public office as a commercial transaction rather than a public trust.

The council is demanding a clarification from the presidency and a detailed substantiation of Hassan's claims. It has further urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the matter, while calling on the National Assembly to hold a transparent public inquiry.
