Trump Administration Locates 157,000 Missing Immigrant Children
Border czar Tom Homan announced the recovery of 157,000 unaccompanied immigrant children missing since their release under the Biden administration.
White House border czar Tom Homan announced that the Trump administration has located approximately 157,000 unaccompanied immigrant children who went missing after the Department of Health and Human Services released them during the Biden administration. Homan stated that nearly 300,000 children were lost overall due to a lack of follow-up communications and improper vetting of sponsors.
Of the children recovered so far, more than 20 have been found deceased from violence, drug overdoses, or natural causes. Homan intends to locate the remaining 140,000 missing children, including those who have aged out of the system, to protect them from sex trafficking and forced labor.
The Department of Homeland Security has partnered with local law enforcement to conduct welfare checks on the minors. However, the plan to deport some of these children back to Mexico has drawn criticism. Senator Ron Wyden condemned the deportation strategy, arguing that such actions endanger vulnerable minors.
