Defense Startup Hadrian Reaches $8 Billion Valuation

Hadrian closed a funding round reaching a valuation of nearly $8 billion to scale its advanced factories and software for the U.S. military.

Defense manufacturing startup Hadrian closed a funding round on Thursday, reaching a valuation of nearly $8 billion. This valuation is more than quadruple the company's value in January. The investment round was led by Baillie Gifford, J.P. Morgan Strategic Investment Group, and Washington Harbor Partners.

Hadrian develops advanced factories and the Opus software platform, which the U.S. Army and Navy use to address production challenges in munitions, submarines, and the drone industrial base. CEO Chris Power stated the funding allows the company to scale its workforce and software to stay ahead of production challenges.

The surge in investment aligns with a broader trend in defense technology, supported by President Donald Trump's push to reindustrialize the U.S. military. This effort includes a proposed $1.5 trillion defense expenditure plan aimed at reducing dependence on expensive missile systems amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
