BJP and Opposition Clash Over Electoral Roll Revisions
BJP President Nitin Nabin accused Rahul Gandhi of inciting anarchy in Delhi as the opposition demands the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party and the INDIA bloc are locked in a confrontation over the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Nitin Nabin, the BJP National President, accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of attempting to spread anarchy in Delhi by collaborating with anti-social elements. Speaking at the Seva Sankalp Yatra closing ceremony in Varanasi, Nabin defended the removal of alleged infiltrators from voter lists as a necessary measure and questioned Gandhi's motives for opposing the process.
In response, Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Congress Party and the opposition alliance will continue to protest, face arrests, and endure legal cases to protect the Constitution and democracy. Gandhi alleged a dictatorial alliance between the government of Narendra Modi and the Election Commission, specifically demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
