Donald Trump Signs Orders Restricting LGBTQ Rights and Gender Care

President Donald Trump implemented a series of executive orders and policies targeting the LGBTQ community following his second inauguration. These actions include defining sex as biological sex at conception and barring federal funding for gender-affirming care for minors. The administration also prohibited transgender women from participating in collegiate female sports and banned transgender individuals from serving in the military.

Federal agencies executed further restrictions, including the removal of LGBTQ-related content from federal websites and the elimination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion mandates. The Department of Justice subpoenaed hospitals for the medical records of LGBTQ minors and stopped protecting transgender prisoners from sexual violence. Additionally, the administration canceled over 270 National Institutes of Health grants and labeled certain groups as radically pro-transgender within its counterterrorism strategy.
