UN Reports Water Shortages for One Million Gazans

The United Nations reported that approximately one million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip experienced reduced water supplies for two consecutive days starting September 2, 2026. The shortage resulted from disruptions in the Israeli water grid, and UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric noted that water trucked in from alternative sources only partially offset the shortfall.

Simultaneously, the UN raised concerns regarding the destruction of Khirbet at Tabban, a herding community in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron. Israeli authorities have designated this region as military firing zones, and a dozen settler outposts have been established there over the last two years.

In response to remarks by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz concerning the potential future displacement of Palestinians, the UN reiterated its commitment to a two-state solution.
