Trump Endorses Bruce Blakeman in New York Gubernatorial Race

Republican candidate Bruce Blakeman and Governor Kathy Hochul held final campaign events as President Donald Trump endorsed Blakeman and criticized Hochul's leadership.

Governor Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman conducted final campaign pushes across New York City and Long Island on Saturday, three days before the Tuesday election. Hochul campaigned in Brooklyn, Northport, and Coram, emphasizing investments in childcare, education, and healthcare while criticizing President Donald Trump's tariffs and social program cuts.

Blakeman rallied supporters in Queens and Mineola, attacking Hochul's record on taxes and congestion pricing. He proposed eliminating state income tax for joint filers earning up to $100,000 and alleged that Hochul spent over 11 billion dollars on housing and food for migrants. Hochul defended her immigration policies, stating New York is not a sanctuary for criminals.

President Donald Trump held a tele-rally on Saturday to endorse Blakeman, calling him a great manager and characterizing Hochul as the worst governor in the history of New York State. Trump promised that a Blakeman victory would bring tremendous federal help. In response, Hochul spokesperson Ryan Radulovacki defended the governor's record on public safety and economic investment.

While Siena and Marist polls show Hochul leading by 11 to 14 percentage points, Blakeman dismissed the results as phony, claiming the race is a dead heat. The New York City Board of Elections reported over 468,000 early ballots cast as of Friday night.
