Readers Submit Letters on Local Development and Political Figures
Various citizens submitted letters to newspapers addressing local infrastructure, political criticisms of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, and institutional conduct at a California library.
A series of letters to the editor across the United States highlighted a range of local and national grievances. In Pennsylvania, Rich Adams urged the Luzerne County government to include trail development in the sale of a redevelopment authority rail line to finalize the 165-mile Delaware & Lehigh Trail.
Political criticisms targeted high-profile figures. Beth Ahrens-Kley criticized Kamala Harris for a 2013 lawsuit against Corinthian Colleges that resulted in the 2015 closure of Heald's Business College. Other submissions contained criticisms of Donald Trump's presidency, specifically regarding his actions during the January 6 Capitol attack and military aid to Ukraine.
Institutional conduct and local elections also featured in the submissions. Gil Stein demanded a public apology from the Capitola Library for hosting and promoting an event with a poet who made antisemitic comments. In Clifton Park, a reader recommended Anthony Morelli for the position of town supervisor.
