Nigerian Officials Deny Claims Tinubu Speech Was Pre-recorded
Government officials rejected claims by activist Chidi Odinkalu that President Bola Tinubu's address at an APC campaign event was pre-recorded and orchestrated.
Nigerian government officials rejected allegations that Bola Ahmed Tinubu delivered a pre-recorded address during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. The controversy began after activist Chidi Odinkalu posted on X that the video of the speech featured unnatural transitions and orchestration, suggesting the president was not physically present at the event.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo dismissed the claims as nonsense, comparing the allegation to a previous conspiracy theory from the Muhammadu Buhari era involving a body double. Keyamo stated that both local and international press covered the event live at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga added that Odinkalu had allowed partisanship to cloud his judgment and was pushing false narratives online.
The inauguration of the council is intended to coordinate the president's re-election campaign for the 2027 general election. The APC has scheduled a campaign flag-off rally for October 24 in Kaduna State.
