Nvidia Unveils DLSS 5 With Enhanced Developer Controls
Nvidia Corporation introduced updated DLSS 5 generative rendering tools at SIGGRAPH 2026 to give developers more control over visual integrity and AI output.
During its SIGGRAPH 2026 keynote in Los Angeles, Nvidia Corporation revealed updated details for DLSS 5, an AI-driven generative rendering technology. The update introduces new developer controls designed to preserve visual integrity and prevent the loss of artistic intent, addressing previous criticisms that the technology produced "AI slop."
These controls include three distinct model options and a masking feature that allows developers to enable or disable the technology for specific scene elements. The system also adds two global sliders for Structure Intensity and Tone Intensity to provide finer tuning of the output.
Nvidia Corporation further announced that its one-step diffusion model can now run on a single GPU, removing the previous requirement for dual RTX 5090 hardware. The company plans to debut the technology in the fall.
