Umar Kremlev Confirms Donald Trump Jr. Repaid Wedding Costs

Umar Kremlev, the head of the International Boxing Association, confirmed during a press conference in Istanbul that Donald Trump Jr. has repaid him for wedding celebration expenses. The repayment follows a ProPublica report stating that Kremlev spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund the May wedding of Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas, which included the rental of a private island.

Kremlev described the repayment as unnecessary for a shared event between friends, though he acknowledged the funds were returned. President Donald Trump had previously defended the financial arrangement, asserting that the money would be paid back.

The transaction has drawn scrutiny because of Kremlev's close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the history of investigated connections between Donald Trump Jr. and Russia.
