Narendra Modi Distributes 51,000 Appointment Letters at 20th Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth during the 20th Rozgar Mela on September 19, 2026. The event took place across 45 locations in India, with recruits joining various government bodies, including the ministries of Railways, Defence, Home Affairs, and Health and Family Welfare. This latest drive brings the total number of appointment letters issued through the initiative to approximately 12.75 lakh since October 2023.

Addressing the candidates via video conference, Modi urged new hires to adopt the spirit of "Nagrik devo bhava" and contribute to the goal of a developed, self-reliant India by 2047. He highlighted the growth of India's startup ecosystem as the world's third-largest and noted that nearly half of recognized startups are now in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. To further boost employment, the government launched the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana with an outlay of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore to help 2 crore youth enter the workforce.

Modi also emphasized global integration, citing 40 Free Trade Agreements and the launch of BRICS Connect and BRICS MSME Cooperation portals to create new market opportunities. He encouraged recruits to use the iGOT Karmayogi platform for continuous skill development, noting that over 1.7 crore employees have already joined the system. Local events featured various officials, including Union Minister Giriraj Singh in Patna and Minister of State Raj Bhushan Choudhary in Tiruchirappalli, who highlighted the opportunity for new employees to touch the lives of ordinary citizens.
