Calley Means Accuses Susie Wiles of Blocking Health Policies
Former health official Calley Means alleges White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles blocked public health policies to secure campaign donations from industry lobbyists.
Former federal health official Calley Means accused White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles of blocking healthy-food policies to secure campaign donations for the upcoming midterm elections. In an interview with Joe Rogan, Means alleged that Wiles prioritized funding from the sugar and tobacco industries over public health initiatives, specifically targeting the agenda of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Means claimed Wiles pressured officials to approve flavored e-cigarettes, relax restrictions on kratom, and issue an executive order supporting glyphosate production to benefit Bayer. He further alleged that Katie Wiles, the daughter of the Chief of Staff, benefited from corporations receiving priority treatment within the White House. Means also identified White House health official and FDA nominee Heidi Overton as a participant in creating legal arguments to support Bayer and relaxing standards for fruit-flavored vapes.
These allegations coincide with significant Republican election losses and a formal response from the legislative branch. Senator Ron Wyden has announced a Senate Finance Committee investigation into potential corruption favoring the tobacco and kratom industries.
