Vladimir Putin Warns of All-Weapon Response to Kaliningrad Attack
Vladimir Putin warned that Russia would deploy all available weapon types if its Kaliningrad exclave is attacked, citing a dangerous global cycle of escalation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Thursday that Russia would consider deploying all types of weapons if its exclave of Kaliningrad were attacked. Speaking at the annual Valdai Forum in Moscow, Putin stated that such a response would be inevitable and immediately on the agenda in the event of a direct attack on the Russian Federation, though he maintained that Moscow has no intention of initiating conflict.
Putin characterized the current global climate as a dangerous moment, warning that cycles of escalation driven by arrogance and overconfidence could lead to a fatal point of no return involving weapons of mass destruction. He described this trajectory as a path to the brink of the abyss.
Addressing economic tensions, Putin discussed European corporate assets currently under Russian external administration. He suggested Western companies could recover these assets under a favorable scenario, while specifically criticizing Germany for seizing Russian enterprises.
