Solomon Dalung Says He Will Accept Tinubu 2027 Victory

Former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung stated that he would accept a potential victory by President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election as the definitive verdict of the Nigerian people. Speaking on Channels Television, Dalung argued that the sovereignty to determine governance rests with the electorate.

Dalung noted that a Tinubu win would indicate that the opposition failed to align with Nigerians on issues of national sovereignty, rather than representing a failure of opposition unity. He maintained that the power to determine governance belongs to the people.

These comments follow a summit in Abuja organized by G100, where six opposition parties, including the PDP, SDP, and ADC, proposed a government of national competence. This proposed coalition intends to operate for a single four-year transition term under an enforceable transition charter and a central leadership committee to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.
