Belgium Prime Minister Bart De Wever Visits India

Belgium Prime Minister Bart De Wever will conduct his first official visit to India from September 2 to 4, 2026. The itinerary begins in New Delhi, where De Wever will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 3 to address global issues and strengthen bilateral relations.

While in the capital, De Wever will deliver a keynote address at a Confederation of Indian Industry event focusing on the India-EU Free Trade Agreement. The visiting delegation includes Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken. Following the diplomatic meetings in New Delhi, De Wever will travel to Mumbai to meet with stakeholders in the diamond, logistics, and ports sectors.

This visit follows the inaugural India-Belgium Strategic Dialogue held in Brussels on July 15. During that meeting, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot reviewed cooperation regarding supply chain de-risking, semiconductors, and clean energy.
