Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a three-nation tour of Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand in July 2026 to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. During a visit to Indonesia from July 6 to 8, Modi met with President Prabowo Subianto to reaffirm the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on maritime cooperation, defense, and regional connectivity. Modi presented Subianto and the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament with traditional items, including Aipan folk art and Odisha Ikat silk.

On July 12, Modi traveled to Auckland, New Zealand, where he presented Prime Minister Christopher Luxon with a Dhokra sculpture and a signed hockey stick, and gave a Zari Zardozi wall hanging to Opposition Leader Chris Hipkins. The tour continued in Australia, where Modi presented Prime Minister Anthony Albanese with a Dhokra boat sculpture, premium coffee, and a vinyl record. He also provided cultural gifts to Governor-General Sam Mostyn and other officials in Canberra.

In addition to cultural exchange, Modi and Albanese announced expanded bilateral cooperation in critical minerals, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and uranium exports. While in Australia, Modi also addressed the Indian diaspora in Melbourne.
