Nigerian Defence Minister Christopher Musa Vows to Sue Over Resignation Rumors

The Nigerian Federal Government and Minister of Defence Christopher Gwabin Musa have dismissed social media reports claiming the minister intended to resign from office. On Monday, the Office of the Minister characterized the rumors as malicious and entirely fabricated, asserting that Musa remains committed to the nation's security agenda.

Following a security briefing with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Musa vowed to take legal action against those responsible for the reports. He stated that the rumors were a deliberate attempt to undermine public confidence in the administration's security gains and denied ever discussing a resignation.

Musa reported that President Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the military's performance and the current security situation. The minister attributed ongoing progress against terrorism and banditry to a whole-of-society approach and thanked Nigerian civilians for their support.
