White House Launches Arcade Games to Promote Trump Agenda
The White House launched five arcade-style video games on its official website to gamify and promote the policy agenda of President Donald Trump.
The White House unveiled Arcade on its official website on Thursday, a collection of five low-resolution video games designed to promote the political agenda of Donald Trump. The games gamify various administration priorities: Build the Wall uses Tetris-style mechanics to stop a zombie border siege of green aliens, while Rio Run is a Snake-style game where a Trump icon gathers border crossers for deportation. Other titles include Supply Line, which requires players to reject food failing Make America Healthy Again standards; Flappy Bill, featuring an eagle carrying legislation across the National Mall; and Trump Savings Tycoon, which promotes a savings plan for children born during the president's term.
To promote the launch, the administration used social media animations parodying Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox loading screens, including a Sega logo modified to read MAGA. A White House official stated the initiative aims to contrast a culture of fun and winning with the dark socialist vision of Democrats. When faced with backlash on X, the administration responded with the phrase "CAN’T STOP WINNING."
Critics, including Senator Matt Lesser and the rights group Frontera Federation, condemned the move. They argue the administration is prioritizing entertainment over critical issues, such as rising living costs and the economic impact of the ongoing war with Iran. The conflict in the Strait of Hormuz has specifically disrupted global energy and fertilizer supplies, contributing to inflation in the United States.
