Narendra Modi to Open Two Eco-Tourism Projects in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Trail of United India and a new Rain Forest project in Ekta Nagar to boost sustainable tourism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major eco-tourism projects in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on October 31 to coincide with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The initiatives aim to establish the region as a global tourism destination and environmental research hub while creating local employment opportunities.
The first project, the Trail of United India, is a 2.62-km forest eco-trail located in Limdi village. Developed by the Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Governance Authority, the trail features five thematic zones focusing on wildlife, youth, women's empowerment, heritage, and spirituality. Infrastructure includes a bamboo watchtower, an information centre, and a multipurpose gazebo.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister will open a Rain Forest project in the Narmada district near the Gora Bridge and the Statue of Unity. Built at an estimated cost of 9.49 crore, the 47,000-square-metre site features native flora from the Himalayas, the Western Ghats, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The attraction includes a 220-metre glass-deck skywalk, an artificial waterfall, a circular pond, and a children's activity zone. An Information Centre at the site will provide education on biodiversity and rainforest ecology for visitors and researchers.
