Nigerian Officials and Youth Groups Mobilize for Tinubu 2027 Bid

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and pro-government groups are mobilizing youth and regional voters to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and several pro-government organizations have launched mobilization efforts to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's second term in the 2027 general election. During meetings in Abuja, Akpabio expressed confidence in a victory for the president, citing the transition of Nigeria away from a mono-economy dependent on oil and a reduction in state borrowing.

Akpabio, acting as Grand Patron for the City Boy Movement, urged youth members to engage in political participation while avoiding drug abuse and cultism. He emphasized the need for agents at every polling unit to prevent vote loss, predicting that opposition parties would claim the election was rigged after Tinubu's victory is announced. These efforts coincided with the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja.

In the South East, the Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria group launched a campaign in Owerri to secure four million votes for the president. The group is establishing booth armies at polling units, as well as campus and market wings. Leader Mazi Franklin Ngoforo credited the current administration for improving regional security and creating the South East Development Commission. Simultaneously, the City Boy Movement is expanding civic engagement programs nationwide to strengthen collaboration between youth and lawmakers.
