Fox News Poll Shows Economic Favorability Shifts to Democrats

Voters now view Democrats as better economic stewards than Republicans for the first time since 2010, according to new Fox News polling.

Recent polling from Fox News indicates a significant shift in public perception regarding the U.S. economy, with voters viewing the Democratic Party as better economic managers than the Republican Party for the first time since 2010. This trend comes as the 2026 midterm elections approach, with approximately 75% of surveyed voters rating the current economy as fair or poor.

Donald Trump and his administration attribute the economic strain to the ongoing war with Iran, arguing that the current pressures are transitory. White House spokesman Kush Desai stated that inflation and gasoline prices will decrease once the conflict with Iran is resolved. However, critics argue that administration-led tariffs and specific policy decisions are the primary drivers of the 3.5% inflation rate recorded in June.

Despite these cost-of-living concerns, the stock market remains high and consumer spending is steady. Republican strategists warn that this shift in perception among independent voters could result in a Blue Wave. Conversely, Democrats continue to struggle with internal ideological divisions and low approval ratings for Congress.
