Trump Administration Faces Lawsuits Over Press Access Restrictions

Parallel restrictions were introduced at the Pentagon by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Hegseth required journalists to be accompanied by official escorts and closed a long-standing press workspace. These actions mirror patterns from the president's first term, which included the revocation of CNN journalist Jim Acosta's White House pass and attempts to suspend other reporter credentials.

Both the Associated Press and The New York Times have filed lawsuits to challenge these current restrictions. The Associated Press is specifically seeking to restore access to the White House and Air Force One, while The New York Times has sued over the limitations imposed at the Pentagon.
