James Talarico Raises Record $64 Million in Texas Senate Race
Democratic candidate James Talarico raised a record-breaking $64 million in the third quarter, significantly outpacing Republican opponent Ken Paxton in fundraising.
Democratic candidate James Talarico raised a record-breaking $64 million during the third quarter of the year for his Texas Senate race, bringing his total fundraising to over $134 million. This figure significantly exceeds the $18 million raised by his Republican opponent, Attorney General Ken Paxton, during the same period.
Despite Talarico's fundraising advantage, Republican advertisers have spent more than $368 million on ads in the state, contributing to a total statewide ad spend surpassing $500 million. Talarico recently returned to the campaign trail after a hiatus due to the flu.
During a CNN voter town hall in Fort Worth, Talarico advocated for ending billionaire influence in politics and opposed total state abortion bans. Attorney General Ken Paxton has not agreed to any debates with Talarico.
