Trump Threatens Major Military Strike to Open Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump threatened to launch a large-scale military strike against Iran if the country fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Fox News, the president stated that the United States had prepared an attack described as the biggest since World War II, but he paused the operation following a request for talks from Iranian officials.

Trump asserted that the two nations are currently engaged in discussions regarding a deal to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. While he expressed a preference for diplomacy, he accused the Iranian leadership of being duplicitous for publicly denying that these negotiations are occurring. He warned that if the strait is not opened soon, Iran will be hit very hard.
